My favorite cardio video to work out to!
I had a long over due thank you email to write and I finally did it. It still made me tear up, thinking about the decision. But I can say, I’ve said my sincere thanks! Time to apply for some full-time jobs I think. Post poning my ideal career. Money first. Ever had to write a thank you letter and pushed it off?
I’ve been an avid reader of Zen pencil since my internship with Willis and afterward. One of my favorite quotes is by beloved cartoonist, Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes).
Creating a life that reflects your values and satisfies your soul is a rare achievement. In a culture that relentlessly promotes avarice and excess as the good life…a person happy doing his own work is usually considered an eccentric, if not a subversive. Ambition is only understood if it’s to rise to the top of some imaginary ladder of success. Someone who takes an undemanding job because it affords him time to pursue other interests and activities…is considered a flake. A person who abandons a career in order to stay home and raise children is considered not to be living up to his potential. As if job title and salary are the sole measure of human’s worth. You’ll be told in a hundred ways, some subtle and some not, to keep climbing…and never be satisfied with where you are, who you are and what you’re doing. There are a million ways to sell yourself out and I guarantee you’ll hear about them. To invent your own life’s meaning is not easy but it’s still allowed. And I think you’ll be happier for the trouble.
– Bill Watterson
It is beautifully drawn in similar style as Mr.Watterson’s comic. This quote struck me like a lightning and I just couldn’t forget. I think I’m still stubborn. I still want to work in a school environment but the competition is fierce! I don’t want to end up doing what I don’t enjoy. However, I’m told that you’ll do anything to survive and that’s what happens to many people.
I never feel confident when I’m applying for jobs. I always feel that I’m not good enough. Same problem as when I applied for colleges but fortunately I was given a chance. Although my grades didn’t end up the same as my high school’s grades, they kind of close. So, I’m feeling under the weather. Very hesitant about everything.
Just celebrated my bff, Carmen’s 23rd birthday at Desert Spot. It was to her liking! =) Sadly no photo of us. Next time.
